Post by Thomas J » Wed 15 Jan, 2014 13:46

The beginning of operation Olympic – The Invasion of Japan

Spring 1946 – The Pacific, south of the Japanese mainland…

Beach codenamed Hermes

Image

Behind the village of Saiku lies peacefully

Image

Only one bunker is protected the village

Image

First wave of Marines hit the beach

Image

Quickly the Marines advance inland - unhindered

Image

They establish a secure perimeter

Image

Suddenly the sniffer dog starts barking

Image

Image

A second Banzai wave almost break through the American line

The line holds but the outcome is still in the balance

Image

From the jungle the Japanese commander unleashes another abominational trial for the USMC

Image

The hive soldiers and their trained insect swarms

Image

The Marines fires into the swarm to no avail and the casualties are mounting

Image

Until a flamethrower arrives and incinerates the flying pestilence

Image

The last of the banzai wave is brought down

Image

The commander gives one last order and slips back into the jungle… to fight another day

Image

To buy the commander time to establish a new defence line, the hive soldiers fall upon the hapless Marines but are in the end also cut down

Image

Beach Hermes is secured and the drive inland can continue....

Image

to be continues....
