Game 19th Skirmish middle room

Post by Wkeyser » Fri 07 Dec, 2012 08:58

Have room for 5 gamers in two side by side skirmish games. More details to follow, but it is a Christmas theme.

It will be fast so I could rotate people through we might just play a round robin sort of mini tournament, best gamer gets an extra portion of xmas cookies and eggnog.

Ok the game, or games on Wednesday are going to be Lord of the Rings/Hobbit. Since we got all these great films around Christmas then anything dealing with those two books/movies is Christmas related so there!!!!

The games will use the SAGA Dark Age skirmish rules. I have found a couple of excellent battle boards for the Middle Earth genera.

So two games first will be an Uruk hai vs. Rohan game the other will be the dwarfs vs. goblins in the dungeons, well ok the sewers of Moria.

The reason for the seweres is that I just picked up the incredabe Sweres of Malifaux set.

I will only have limited slots so again only place for 5 gamers, so 3 slots still open. The games are small and the game is really set up as a one player game, hence two games to allow more people to play.

That is too bad as I am sure all the cookies and the Egg nog will be devoured by the ravening hordes of orcs and other evil doers. And yes it is in this section because the "rules" are dark age

I will try and take some pictures of the Sewer system it is very nice, well thought out and the printing is not glossy so it does not glare. Great stuff.

However, the down side is that it takes a good amount of time building it. One set does cover a good amount of space, it has 24 x 6inch x 6 inch floor pieces. I am waiting for the building set and street set which is on order. But I think it perfectly covers those once in while fantasy skirmish games. Fun but not something I am willing to spend dozens of hours making buildings for it.

Here is a nice review.
